Simple Hand-to-Eye trick tested to calm nerves before surgery

NCT ID NCT07259551

Summary

This study tested if a simple relaxation method called the 'palming technique' could help reduce anxiety and prevent heart rate and blood pressure spikes in patients about to have thyroid surgery. Researchers compared 80 patients who either used the technique or received no special intervention before their operation. The goal was to see if this easy, non-drug method could make the pre-surgery experience calmer and safer.
