Palate shape linked to nerve canal position in new dental study
NCT ID NCT07363213
First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study looks at how the shape of the roof of the mouth (palate) and a person's age relate to the position and size of a key nerve canal (greater palatine canal). Researchers will review 50 existing CBCT scans from Egyptian adults to measure palate height, width, and bone thickness. The goal is to help dentists and surgeons avoid nerve damage during procedures like tooth extractions or implants.
