Could a simple belly injection cut surgery pain?

Summary

This study looks at whether putting a numbing drug called bupivacaine into the belly during open appendix surgery can lower pain afterward. About 60 people having this surgery will be split into two groups: one gets the drug, the other gets a placebo. Researchers will check pain levels and how much extra pain medicine is needed over 24 hours.
