New pain jab could help kids avoid opioids after surgery

Summary

This study is testing a painkiller called bupivacaine liposome injection for children aged 6 to 17 after orthopedic (bone) surgery. The goal is to see if it safely controls pain and reduces the need for stronger opioid pain medicines. About 232 children will take part, and researchers will monitor side effects and how much extra pain relief is needed.
