First seen May 14, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026

Summary

This study compares adding dexmedetomidine or ketamine to a standard numbing medicine (bupivacaine) for pain control during lower back surgery. About 72 adults having lumbosacral surgery will receive one of the two combinations via a caudal injection. The goal is to see which mix provides longer pain relief and reduces the need for additional painkillers after surgery.
