First seen Mar 19, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study looked at whether adding magnesium sulfate to the numbing drug bupivacaine can make pain relief last longer after a mastectomy. Sixty women having one-sided breast cancer surgery received a nerve block with either bupivacaine alone or bupivacaine plus magnesium. The goal was to see which group had longer pain relief after the operation.
