Cooling spray tested to numb the pinch of birth control implant

NCT ID NCT06933381

Summary

This study is testing whether a fast-acting cooling spray can reduce the pain of the numbing shot given before inserting a Nexplanon birth control implant. About 70 people getting the implant will be randomly assigned to receive either the real cooling spray or a harmless placebo spray before their injection. The main goal is to see if the spray makes the initial needle stick less painful for patients.
