New shot method aims to ease kids' dental pain in enamel disorder

NCT ID NCT07239050

First seen Nov 20, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study tests whether a special injection method (combining a standard numbing shot with a very short needle into the jawbone) works better than the usual approach for children with molar incisor hypomineralization (MIH), a condition that makes teeth sensitive and hard to numb. About 26 healthy, cooperative children aged 6–12 will receive either the new or standard injection before cavity treatment. Researchers will measure pain using child and observer scales to see which method provides better pain control.
