Magnesium boost could ease Post-Surgery pain

NCT ID NCT07451327

Summary

This study tested if adding magnesium to a standard local anesthetic (bupivacaine) during laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (a common weight loss surgery) would improve pain control. Researchers injected the mixture near the surgical site in 68 patients to see if it would reduce pain, lower the need for strong painkillers like morphine, and help patients leave the hospital sooner.
