First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated Jun 11, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study looked at 60 adults who had chest surgery (thoracotomy) to see if using two nerve blocks together works better than one for pain relief. Patients received either a single erector spinae plane block or that block plus a serratus anterior plane block. Researchers measured pain scores and painkiller use over 72 hours after surgery.
