Better pain relief after lung surgery? study tests new delivery method

NCT ID NCT05930405

Summary

This study tested two different ways of delivering pain medication through an epidural after lung surgery. Researchers wanted to see if giving the medicine in scheduled, larger doses (PIEB) was better for recovery than the standard method of a slow, continuous drip (CEI). They measured recovery quality, pain levels, and side effects in 252 adults who had lung surgery. The goal was to find which method helps patients feel better and recover faster after their operation.
