New nerve block may slash morphine use after lung surgery

NCT ID NCT07335250

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether a special nerve block (intertransverse process block) can reduce pain and the need for morphine after lung surgery. About 66 adults having a planned lung lobe removal will be randomly assigned to get either the nerve block or a placebo. The goal is to see if this block provides better pain control and lowers opioid use in the first 24 hours after surgery.
