First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding a single spinal injection of morphine to standard pain care helps people recover better after major laparoscopic abdominal surgery. About 700 adults having planned surgery will be randomly assigned to receive either the real spinal injection or a sham (fake) procedure. Researchers will measure pain, recovery quality, and side effects for up to 30 days after surgery.
