New nerve blocks battle Post-Surgery pain, aim to cut opioid use
NCT ID NCT07251400
Summary
This study tests two different ultrasound-guided nerve-block techniques to see which one better manages pain after laparoscopic hernia repair surgery. Researchers are comparing an 'erector spinae plane block' with a 'rectus sheath block' in patients having surgery on both sides. The main goal is to see which method provides better pain control and reduces the need for opioid painkillers after the operation.
