New study pits two pain blocks Head-to-Head after cancer surgery
NCT ID NCT06424938
First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study looked at 71 women having open surgery for gynecologic cancer to compare two ways of controlling pain: an epidural block and a newer erector spinae plane block. The goal was to see if the newer block works just as well for pain scores, reducing the need for strong painkillers, and helping patients get moving sooner. Results will help doctors choose the best option for recovery.
