New pain pump drug tested for safter recovery after chest surgery

NCT ID NCT07434427

Summary

This study aims to find out if a pain medication called buprenorphine, given through a patient-controlled pump, works as well as or better than the standard medication oxycodone for pain after chest surgery. Researchers will compare how well each drug controls pain and how safe they are, particularly looking at breathing problems and side effects. The goal is to help patients recover more comfortably and safely after their operation.
