New study tests ways to cut opioid painkillers after back surgery

Summary
This study aims to find the best way to manage pain after spinal fusion surgery while reducing the need for strong opioid painkillers. Researchers will compare three different pain control techniques in 84 adults having this back surgery. They will measure pain levels and track how much opioid medication patients need during the first day after their operation.
