New approach to ease pain after appendix surgery

NCT ID NCT07429448

Summary

This study aims to see if placing a numbing medication (bupivacaine) inside the abdomen during open appendix removal surgery works better than a placebo (inactive solution) at reducing pain after the operation. It will involve 60 adults having emergency surgery. Researchers will measure pain levels and the need for extra painkillers for 24 hours after surgery to compare the two approaches.
