First seen Jan 29, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study tests a pain management plan that combines Western medicine with traditional Chinese techniques like ear acupressure and acupuncture to reduce pain and opioid use after perianal abscess surgery. About 135 adults will be split into three groups to compare standard care, a Western-only plan, and the combined approach. The goal is to find a safer, more effective way to control pain and improve recovery.
