New device could cut Kids' opioid need after major back surgery

NCT ID NCT04047225

Summary

This study tested if using a special pain monitor during surgery could help doctors give the right amount of pain medicine. It involved 260 children having surgery to correct scoliosis. The goal was to see if the monitor could reduce the total amount of strong opioid painkillers the children needed in the first day after their operation.
