Brain training for back pain: simple lessons may stop acute pain from becoming chronic
NCT ID NCT07277517
First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding a short educational program called Pain Neuroscience Education (PNE) to standard physiotherapy helps people with acute low back pain recover better. PNE teaches patients how the brain processes pain, aiming to reduce fear and improve movement. Researchers will compare two groups of 48 adults: one receiving physiotherapy alone, and the other receiving physiotherapy plus two PNE sessions. The goal is to see if this approach reduces pain, disability, and fear of movement more effectively than physiotherapy alone.
