New injection technique aims to make dental visits less painful for children with MIH

NCT ID NCT07239050

First seen Nov 20, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study compares a new injection method (combining a standard numbing shot with a very short needle into the jawbone) against the usual approach for children aged 6-12 with molar incisor hypomineralization (MIH), a condition causing sensitive, weak enamel. The goal is to see if the new method provides better pain relief during cavity treatment. About 26 healthy, cooperative children will participate, and their pain and anxiety will be measured using standard scales.
