First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study aims to see if applying a small amount of lidocaine (a numbing medicine) inside the cervix before a hysteroscopy can reduce pain during the procedure. About 208 women will be randomly assigned to receive either lidocaine or salt water (placebo). After the procedure, they will rate their pain and satisfaction. The goal is to find a simple way to make this common exam more comfortable.
