Ankle surgery pain relief showdown: injection vs. nerve block
NCT ID NCT04575688
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study compares two common methods for controlling pain after ankle or foot surgery: a shot near the joint versus a nerve block behind the knee. About 100 adults having certain ankle procedures will be randomly assigned to one of the two methods. Researchers will track pain levels and whether patients can wiggle their toes to see which approach works better.
