New injection tested to ease agony of lingering shingles pain

NCT ID NCT07256145

Summary

This study is testing a new pain relief method for people with post-herpetic neuralgia, the chronic nerve pain that can linger after a shingles rash heals. Researchers will compare an ultrasound-guided steroid injection near the spine to standard pain treatments. The goal is to see if the injection provides better and longer-lasting pain relief and improves patient satisfaction.
