New back injection could slash pain after prostate surgery

NCT ID NCT06962085

Summary

This study tested whether a specific nerve block in the lower back could reduce pain and the need for strong painkillers after a common prostate surgery. Researchers compared two groups of 60 men having the surgery under general anesthesia. One group received the nerve block with local anesthetic, while the other did not, to see which method provided better pain relief and recovery.
