New pain block tested for Kids' surgery
NCT ID NCT06561269
Summary
This study compared two different ultrasound-guided nerve-blocking techniques for managing pain in children (aged 1-7 years) undergoing hypospadias repair surgery. The goal was to see if a newer method, called a sacral multifidus plane block, works as well as or better than the standard caudal block for pain relief after the operation. Researchers measured how long it took before a child needed additional pain medication.
