New pain-blocking technique could cut opioid use after cancer surgery

NCT ID NCT07331129

Summary

This study is testing a targeted nerve block to manage pain after surgery to remove lymph nodes from the groin in cancer patients. The goal is to see if this ultrasound-guided injection can effectively reduce pain and lower the need for strong opioid painkillers, which often cause difficult side effects. Researchers will compare pain levels and medication use in 90 patients who receive the block versus standard pain care.
