First seen Mar 18, 2026 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study looked at 98 adults having kidney removal surgery to see which nerve block—paravertebral or external oblique intercostal—provides better pain relief after the operation. Participants received one of the two blocks before surgery, and their pain was measured using a 0-to-10 scale. The goal is to find the most effective method to reduce pain and complications after open radical nephrectomy.
