First seen Mar 15, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study tested two different ultrasound-guided nerve blocks to reduce pain while positioning patients with broken hips for spinal anesthesia. 42 adults were randomly assigned to receive either a pericapsular nerve group block or a quadratus lumborum block. Researchers measured pain scores, how easily patients could sit for the spinal, and how much extra pain medicine was needed.
