First seen Nov 18, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study compared two types of nerve blocks—Quadroiliac Plane Block and Pericapsular Nerve Group (PENG) Block—for pain relief after hip fracture surgery. Fifty-two adults were randomly assigned to receive one block after spinal anesthesia. Researchers measured pain levels and how much opioid painkiller patients needed in the first 24 hours. The goal was to see which block provides better pain control and reduces the need for strong pain medicines.
