Gallbladder surgery pain relief: which nerve block works best?
NCT ID NCT07149584
Summary
This study compared two different nerve-block techniques to manage pain after laparoscopic gallbladder removal surgery. Researchers tested whether an erector spinae plane block or a thoracic paravertebral block was more effective at reducing patients' need for opioid pain medication during the first 24 hours after surgery. The trial involved 120 adults undergoing elective gallbladder surgery who received one of the two nerve-block approaches before their operation.
