Summary

This study tested whether brain wave patterns (EEG) and artificial intelligence can objectively measure pain in people with cognitive decline, such as dementia. Researchers enrolled 30 hospitalized patients and compared EEG readings with standard pain scales. The goal is to help caregivers better manage pain in those who cannot easily describe it.
