Could a simple pacemaker tweak ease a widespread heart condition?
NCT ID NCT06678841
Summary
This study is testing whether programming a pacemaker to a personalized, slightly faster heart rate can help control symptoms in people with a common type of heart failure where the heart pumps normally but doesn't relax well. About 700 participants with this condition will have a pacemaker implanted and be randomly assigned to receive either the personalized faster pacing or standard minimal pacing for one year. Researchers will compare which group has fewer heart-related problems, better quality of life, and can walk farther.
