New study aims to stop oral cancer before it starts

NCT ID NCT07090070

First seen Feb 19, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study looks at people with p53-mutated oral dysplasia (abnormal cells) and early-stage oral cancer to find the best treatment at each stage. Researchers will compare surgery versus observation for low-grade dysplasia, different surgical margins for high-grade dysplasia, and adding neck dissection for early cancer. The goal is to see which approach best prevents progression to more serious disease.
