First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated Jun 07, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study tests whether a nasal spray containing oxytocin, a natural hormone, can reduce anxiety and improve emotional recognition in adults with central diabetes insipidus (a condition where the body can't balance water properly). About 112 participants with high anxiety or trouble identifying feelings will receive either oxytocin or a placebo spray for 14 days. The goal is to see if oxytocin can ease psychological symptoms beyond standard treatment.
