Pressurized oxygen chambers tested as lifesaver for deadly flesh infections
NCT ID NCT07489274
Summary
This study tests whether adding pressurized oxygen chamber treatment to standard care helps patients survive severe flesh-eating infections. Researchers will enroll 1,480 adults with surgically confirmed infections and randomly assign them to receive either standard treatment alone or standard treatment plus oxygen therapy. The main goal is to see if the oxygen treatment reduces deaths within 30 days.
