Can a whiff of oxygen help mountain dwellers breathe and walk better?

NCT ID NCT06489743

Summary

This study tested whether breathing supplemental oxygen from a portable device could help people with high altitude pulmonary hypertension (HAPH) walk farther and feel less breathless. Researchers enrolled 24 adults who permanently live above 2500 meters and have HAPH. They measured how far participants could walk in 6 minutes at 3200 meters, both while breathing normal air and while using portable oxygen.
