Breathing breakthrough? special oxygen therapy aims to protect frail patients after surgery

NCT ID NCT07464730

Summary

This study is testing whether a special high-flow nasal oxygen therapy is better than standard oxygen at preventing serious lung complications after major abdominal or chest surgery in frail, high-risk adults. Researchers will compare the two methods in 200 patients to see which one leads to fewer breathing problems, shorter hospital stays, and better recovery in the first month after surgery.
