New oxygen test could spot dangerous leaks after bowel surgery
NCT ID NCT07467980
Summary
This study aims to find a better way to predict dangerous leaks after colon or rectal surgery. Researchers will measure oxygen levels in the bowel tissue of 80 patients right after their operation to see if low oxygen is linked to later complications. This is an observational study that won't change patient care, but hopes to improve future safety by finding a reliable warning sign.
