Oxygen overload? study probes link between ICU oxygen and sepsis stress
NCT ID NCT07332637
First seen Jan 12, 2026 · Last updated May 04, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study observes 110 adult ICU patients with sepsis to see if high oxygen levels in the first 24 hours are linked to changes in a blood marker called uric acid/albumin ratio, which reflects oxidative stress. No new treatments are given; researchers simply measure existing oxygen exposure and blood tests. The goal is to understand whether too much oxygen might harm sepsis patients and if this marker can help detect that injury.
