Could too much oxygen harm sepsis patients? new study investigates

NCT ID NCT07332637

Summary

This study aims to understand if the amount of oxygen given to sepsis patients in the intensive care unit (ICU) affects a marker of stress and inflammation in their blood. Researchers will observe 110 adult ICU patients with sepsis, measuring their oxygen levels and a specific blood ratio over the first 24 hours. The goal is to gather knowledge that could help guide safer oxygen use for these critically ill patients in the future.
