Breathing safely under: extra oxygen tested for kids in surgery
NCT ID NCT06742476
Summary
This study tested if giving children a steady flow of oxygen through the nose during a brief pause in breathing under anesthesia helps keep their blood oxygen levels safe. It involved 140 children aged 3-10 who were having their tonsils and adenoids removed. Researchers compared standard care to the extra oxygen method to see which better prevented low oxygen levels during the procedure.
