New monitor aims to Fine-Tune oxygen during surgery, hoping to speed recovery
NCT ID NCT07359833
Summary
This study tested if a new monitor could help doctors use the right amount of oxygen during lung surgery. During these operations, patients breathe with only one lung, and doctors often give extra oxygen to be safe. However, too much oxygen might cause harm. Researchers compared using the new monitor to guide oxygen levels versus the usual method. They checked if this led to less oxygen use, lower signs of stress in the body, and fewer breathing problems after surgery.
