New oxygen techniques aim to make lung surgery safer and recovery smoother

NCT ID NCT07461779

Summary

This study compares two new ways of giving oxygen to the non-working lung during lung surgery against standard care. Researchers want to see if these methods reduce lung damage, inflammation, and complications after surgery. The trial will involve 177 patients having planned lung surgery, who will be randomly assigned to receive either standard oxygen, oxygen without pressure, or oxygen with gentle pressure. Patients will be followed for 30 days after surgery to track their recovery and any complications.
