First seen Jan 29, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study looks at whether giving older patients (65+) a lower (40%) or higher (80%) amount of oxygen during laparoscopic stomach or bowel surgery helps their lungs work better afterward. About 1,176 people will take part, and their oxygen levels and lung health will be checked for up to 7 days after surgery. The goal is to find the safest oxygen level to prevent lung problems in this age group.
