Which oxygen level is safer for seniors during surgery?

Summary
This study compares giving 40% versus 80% oxygen during laparoscopic gastrointestinal surgery in patients aged 65 and older. The goal is to see which level better protects lung function after the operation. Over 1,100 participants will be randomly assigned to one of the two oxygen levels, and their oxygen levels and lung complications will be tracked for up to 7 days.
