New surgery aims to protect fertility & hormones during cancer treatment

NCT ID NCT05462379

Summary

This study is testing a surgical procedure for young women with cervical cancer who need pelvic radiation. The procedure moves a small piece of a woman's own healthy ovarian tissue to a safe area (like fatty tissue) before radiation starts. The goal is to see if this graft can keep producing natural hormones after treatment, which could help prevent early menopause and improve long-term health and quality of life.
