Ovarian tissue transplant may prevent early menopause in young cervical cancer patients

NCT ID NCT05462379

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study tests a new approach to help young women with advanced cervical cancer avoid early menopause caused by pelvic radiation. Doctors will transplant a small piece of the patient's own ovarian tissue into belly fat, far from the radiation area, to see if it can keep producing natural hormones. The trial includes 22 women aged 35 or younger and compares hormone levels between those who get the transplant and those who don't. If successful, this could offer a simpler, lower-cost alternative to hormone replacement therapy.
