Could a simple surgery during hysterectomy prevent deadly ovarian cancer?

NCT ID NCT03045965

Summary

This large study is testing whether removing the fallopian tubes during a routine hysterectomy for non-cancerous reasons can safely reduce the risk of developing ovarian cancer later in life. It involves 4,400 women under 55 who are having a hysterectomy. Researchers will compare outcomes between women who have their tubes removed and those who don't, tracking complications, menopausal symptoms, and long-term cancer rates.
